Old photos and images from sources such as CCTV can yield important measurements and detail for both prosecution and defence. Perspective Services has carried out the analysis of images in the following areas:

How Accurate is it?
This largely depends on the quality of the images and must be established on a case-by-case basis but some general figures can be given. The accuracy of human height measurement from CCTV may be plus/minus 2.5 - 5 cm (1 - 2 inches) . Vehicle positioning, depending on the distance from the camera, may be in the range 10cm - 1m (4 inch to 3 feet) .
